We have a MEDX Literacy You Tube channel for the program. As part of this course, you will be expected to post videos and/or watch and comment on videos posted on the You Tube channel. All students who are a part of the MEDX Literacy cohort have access to this channel.
Everyone will be expected to join the You Tube channel as a manager. This gives you access to posting and viewing videos. Even if you do not believe you will be posting a video to the channel, you will still join as a manager. To join as a manager, you will need to do the following (we will do this on the first day of class):
(a) you will receive an invitation to become a manager of our channel
(b) check your email and accept the invitation
(c) you will need to have (or create) a Google+ profile (just a profile - not a page). This will happen as you move through the process should you need one.
(d) you will end up being a manager of our channel AND a manager of our Google+ page. You will remain as a manager until you leave the program.
Keep in mind that You Tube does not allow anyone to set up private channels, but it is important that our videos remain private. Making a video private is the responsibility of the person who posts it. Below are two videos for you to watch. The first video explains the difference between the privacy settings available on You Tube (public, private, and unlisted):
The second video explains how to set your video to Private:
